Tang Sheng wanted to get Local Pop ice cream for a while. This Tuesday, we decided to go to the Red Lotus for lunch. He knew that Red Lotus is right next to the Local Pop, so he said "Mama, can we go to Local Pop as well?" "Oh, it might be closed for the winter." I said. "Mama, ice cream shop opens when it's cold. Because the ice cream won't melt in the cold days." "That makes sense!" I said. Then we did drive by the shop to see if it's really open, and it was!

I have to wonder if Tang Sheng really is the son of Philip and me, as he is super smart comparing to us! ^_^ Today, he asked "How did the earth and sun come to be?" Dad answered "I don't know." Then the boy thought for a while and said "Perhaps everything was in the sun, and then ban, the earth came out, and ban, the moon came out..."

Philip took Tang Sheng to swimming class yesterday. Tang Sheng has a cute monkey bag for the bathing suit and towel. In general, Daddy or Mommy will hang up the wet bathing suit and towel after go back home. Yesterday, since the baby was crying a lot, Philip asked Tang Sheng to hang up everything by himself on the laundry room door nob. After several reminders, Tang Sheng finally did it. After putting both boys to sleep, walking pass the laundry room, Philip saw how the task was done--Tang Sheng did hang up all the wet swimming gear--he hang up the monkey bag on the door nob with everything in it!

Today is Feb. 21 2011, a Monday. It's my fourth day back to work after the maternity leave, and my first day of having late shift starting 1pm to 9pm. Towards the end of the day, all of my three men missed me a lot, especially the baby. He was crying for hours on Daddy's shoulders and won't go sleep. Finally, Philip offered him one of my un-washed shirts, putting it on his chest. Holding my shirt with my smell, the baby Kuan fell asleep... This is really bitter sweet...

Tang Sheng recites Peter Pan

Tang Sheng says "Mama, when I grow up, I will setup lots of play days with you and Papa!"

Tang Sheng is a very logical thinker (unfortunately, it's not my gene :-( ). He always asks sophisticated questions. like in the Toy Story 3, in the end when all the toys were trapped in the trash compactor, how come the Buzz Lightyear did not fly away. Yesterday, he asked the most sophisticated question: How was the very first person born?

Actually, this is Sir topham hatt's line. Now, Tang Sheng uses it on his Dad "Papa, you cause confusion and delay!"

It seems like that in Tang Sheng's generation, every body is hard wired with the ability to play with computers, iphone, ipad, ... Now Tang Sheng is 4. Back to one or two years ago, he can already use mouse to browse internet. His new love is my iphone. He watches YouTube and plays ANGRY BIRDS and many other games on it. Often he even teaches me some new features he found. For his Dad, however, getting used to the iphone is such a struggle. One day, an one inch thick printout on Philip's desk caught my attention--it's the user's manual of iphone!

Yes, believe it or not, even the two months old has a good sense of humor! Kuan started smiling at day one. At month two, he smiles much more and also makes lots of sounds. Most of his sounds, of course, include only one syllable, something like "Arrr..." "Oh...". One night, I was holding Kuan, enjoying "talking" with him, all of sudden, he made a two-syllable sound "Ai Yo (哎哟)". The Dad who was reading next to us jumped up "It's Chinese!"

Well, I have to say that I'm lazy in terms of writing. That's why you saw pictures and videos almost all the time. However, both boys are just too funny. I would regret if I don't write down their funny moments...

1. I am breast feeding our new born Kuan. Kuan's big brother Tang Sheng is very interested in that, and he wants to become a parent as well. One day, he made an announcement "Papa, Mama, come over to see my twin children!" Holding Kuan, I rushed to my oldest, realized that Kuan's swing was occupied by two lovely kids! One looks like a dog and another like a monkey. They were peacefully lying in the swing--covered with Kuan's blanket. "Nice and warm", Tang Sheng pointed the blanket to me and said "Shh..." After a while, by the time the twins are hungry, Tang Sheng picked them up, rolled up his own shirt, held the twins over his chest and started nursing...

2. Tang Sheng really enjoys being a helpful big brother. He often helps Dad to take care of Kuan, such as holding the pacifier in the right place--the two months old's mouth. One day, Tang Sheng looks at Dad, feels very proud of himself, and says "Papa, you and I are a good team to take care of Kuan!", "But...", he continues... "Our nipples don't work!"

3. As the end of my maternity leave approaches, I started dreaming getting rich over night so that I can stay at home being a full time mom and still don't need to worry about money. "I should start buying lottery!" On the Chinese New Year's day, over the restaurant table with our kids, I'm saying this again to Philip who thinks lottery is a cruel tax to mathematically challenged people. Unlike most of our situations, this time I trusted him. Didn't want me to feel hopeless, he started suggesting something more certain "You can rob bank." The four year old Tang Sheng who was looking at his brother a moment ago all of sudden now is looking at me! I then told him "I'm not going to rob a bank, you know, they are going to put me in jail. If I were in jail, what are you going to do?!" "Mama" he said in a firm voice "I will save you!"
